I found out today that my golden retriever Britney has cancer, a real bad kind. She's about fourteen, which is in the upper nineties for a dog according to my mom, and we've had her about eight years. I can say with authority that she's lived a good life. *reminisces about the time she attacked a skunk, got sprayed along with me, and brought half of its corpse into the house*

We're going to put her down on Monday, so there's the weekend to give her cuddles and such.

I'm sorry. *hugs* It always hurts to lose pets, especially one that's been part of your family for so long and has brought you so much joy. But you're doing the right thing. Give her a cuddle for me, and give yourself a cuddle.

We've been giving many many snuggles at every avalible opportunity. What's sad is that she's acting as if she's improving now because of all that attention. But the vet says she'll just be in more pain if we wait.
