Well, my night didn't go well.

I woke up around six in the morning with nausea sharp pains in my abdomen, worse and higher up than your usual womanly issues. Spent a while writhing about in bed before I managed to work myself up to going to the bathroom to get a little drink of water, and found myself intensely overheated as I suddenly lost the ability to stand up.

I wound up swooning onto the bathroom floor and breaking my drying rack by falling on top of it, pants opened, shirt off, and sweating copiously as my body temperature seemed to return itself to normal. Eventually I managed to get myself up and stumble back to bed, which is probably a good thing because I really don't want my suitemates coming in to find me lying faceup and half-dressed next to a twisted pile of balsa wood and pieces of air-dried clothing.

The pain's gotten a lot better now, down to more of a dull ache, but I'm still a little unsteady on my feet. Dad said to poke around my right side and see if it got more sore there, which might be a sign of an inflamed appendix. Well, it's certainly sore now but I can't tell if it's from an actual illness or the probing, sleep deprivation and stress related to pretty much everything. And when my stress is this bad it tends to give me a stomachache anyway.

...god, I hope this isn't appendicitis, the timing is positively horrific if it is. *whimpers* Wanna see m'Triad.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm going with the indigestion + stress option on this one. I'm feeling fine now, if extremely weary from having slept very little in the past couple of days. Gonna have lunch with Dad and then drive back home.

I don't know if this is what your father told you, but the best test I know is to firmly press your abdomen in and then release. The pressing in won't hurt that much, but when you release, if you have appendicitis, then it'll hurt a lot (people I know who've had that test done say it's excruciating).

Hope that turns up negative, though. Appendicitis is no fun.

I did try that and it's not excrutiating (actually he said what you said), so I'm trying not to be worried.

Oh, that's good. :)

Might "just" be minor food poisoning (sounds similar to what's happened to me) or, like [livejournal.com profile] starchildorion said, a case of bad indigestion. Hope you feel better soon!

Does minor food poisoning apply to frozen vegetable muffins that are over a month and a half old?

After thinking back on my three very old vegetable-bran muffins for dinner, that may be it exactly.

*fussfussfuss!* It's really all right, my dad was just being overcautious. I'm fine now.

Might have picked up a nasty bug? I've had a cold for the past week and a half that's been wiping me out completely, and one of the effects was sore muscles and dizziness. Surprisingly how powerfully those can impact you when you're stressed and tired. Best wishes on feeling better, though!

I think it's more a stomach/eating thing, I'm mostly all right now. But yes, I've had a cold for the past week or so.

*snugglings!* Not much point in your doing it now, but I appreciate the sentiment.

I had an inflamed appendix once (had to come out, or it would have burst). Symptoms were intense abdominal pain, sweating and lightheadedness, usually shortly after eating. About 30 minutes later, it would stop. Except that it wouldn't happen after every meal, so it was like trying to pin down a ghost. Spent two weeks in hospital on a drip after it got diagnosed.

I tell people the surgical scar was from a charging leopard-rhino.

<_<
>_>

The point being, if it happens again, get it checked out, m'kay? *worries*

Can you give me a definition on 'intense'? Cause mine were basically like a bad bout of menstrual cramps (not even the worse, actually), but I'm not quite sure if you'd be able to understand the comparison, you being the_s_guy and all.

But if it does I'll wander over to the campus nurse.

Well, pain does tend to be subjective, but it was enough to make me stop anything I was doing and turn white for several minutes. I could still move (walk etc) if I put my mind to it, but it wasn't appreciated by my guts.

It wasn't bad enough to fall over or pass out, but four different types of painkiller in the hospital didn't even register. When they got to morphine, that took some of the worst edge off. People react to painkillers in different ways, though, so that may not be much help.

Appendix pain can apparently vary in intensity, too, but it was fairly localised to one side, enough for me to guess at a self-diagnosis before the docs started cutting.

About the only thing I can remember causing a similar level of pain was coral poisoning in the ankle, which was a sharper, more stabby pain.

Ah, Mine wasn't nearly that bad, so I suppose I'm all right.
