The rest of the choice Pride Parade photos. This is certainly not so all my new Sherlock fans will come to my LJ and think I am a good photographer rather than someone who complains all the time (hiiiiii guys you are all so amazing ilu).

Hi Mayor Rahm! You are cool!

Small children at Pride Parades is almost as cute as small children at fan conventions. They're just so excited to wave and give candy.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This policewoman spotted us, walked over, and put a lei on the girl next to me. Obviously she was very happy about it.

While the 'Free Hugs' girls were still around (they vanished midway through, I think one of them needed to eat pretty badly), we got some very happy hugs.

More Pride doggies!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'm...not sure what this was supposed to be.

Photobucket

Rifle twirlers aren't very interesting in photos, but this sign amused me.

Pink tanks! The gay agenda's turned violent!

Photobucket

More people getting views where they can. There's people clinging to crossing light poles, peeking under the massive flag, and sitting on the porta-potties.

Photobucket

I saw the front of this, and the ad for a cosmetic surgeon, and wondered why that business would be advertising at gay pride. Then I saw the side of the float and went "Ohhhhhh". They do appear to be lovely breasts indeed.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Is this a euphemism I missed?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I took this specific photo because I was boggling at how we can have men in speedos right before a church. There were a lot of churches represented here and I'm so used to seeing Christianity as shorthand for homophobia. I love Chicago.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Nooooo! Move, you're covering the most interesting part! (Also there was a pair of women on the other side of the float in a similar pose.)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Don't we all use Google to find hot shirtless men?

Photobucket

This was one of the ladies standing behind me. I gave them beads and fliers when I caught doubles or got a button I didn't care to wear, and they gave me a Corona late in the parade. I split it with the girls to my left and right, and my heart was warmed.

Photobucket

Post-parade. They asked where the photos would be going, since the shirt might offend some delicate sensibilities. I said they probably wouldn't, since my blog also contains written gay porn. The woman was amazed to find a woman who wrote gay porn, while I snickered and thought of the slash fandom.

Then I went out to lunch with two other lovely ladies and it was very nice. Then I went back to Kate's place to pick up some used goods. and she swore at the sight of my epic sunburn. In conclusion?

Bring sunscreen.

K2's camera is weird in that it shuts off after every photo. I took them sparingly.

And by sparingly I mean I have about 200.

Pride was the day I was in Chicago! [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh and I were sorry to miss Pride, but we were talking slash and wearing multicolored clothing, if that counts. And we kept running into people Uptown walking back from the parade, who all told us that they'd had an awesome time.

I almost want a kid so they can march in it.

Or maybe I can just take my cat on the float. "I love my gay mommy!"

Oh man these are seriously awesome. I've never actually been to my Pride parade (it's like in the morning and i just can't force myself up) but maybe I should go this year, as weirdly my cities pride isn't until labor day.

Love the boys on the bed and ngl I think I need one of those google shirts.

It's amazing, there's so much happiness and positive energy and people dressed funny.

It's like Convergence but less geeky.

I couldn't go to the Pride parade in SF this year (had to work), but my best friend's husband was in it, in the atheist group. They threw together a sign for him to carry the night before, and that seemed to be the hit of their group. XD

There are lots of cool things on my f-list, but this is definitely one of the coolest. I want to go to a Pride parade now.
