On the advice unheeded warning of
apprentice_lurk, I went down to the Grand Arcade to look at the strange Christmas decorations.
I'm not completely sure what they were thinking here. It's like one of those horror movie/game statues where you can see that they started with something nice and shiny and then corrupted it until it's just wrong enough to make you feel faintly uneasy just being in the same room as it.

Besides the freakish angels, the rest of the decorations were reasonably sane and normal--besides this bit. Trees are good, dangly glowing tinsel is good, but when you put them together it just winds up look like some sort of festive jellyfish.

People really need better internal decorators.

Date: 2008-11-20 01:29 pm (UTC)Cool photos sis - and while I'd noticed the scary angels, the festive jellyfish are new to me and disturbingly awesome (or do I mean awesomely disturbing?) Either way...

Date: 2008-11-22 12:22 am (UTC)It looks like they raided Victoria's Secret because they ran out of money for their decorations. And I love the festive jellyfish.

Date: 2008-11-22 03:43 am (UTC)I'm seeing a neat idea badly executed-- if they'd been willing to spend the money on decent wigs, decent wings, and decent angel costumes... well, they'd've had to have done it before Halloween, so maybe what I'm seeing is poor planning, instead.

Date: 2008-12-02 06:10 am (UTC)"Quick! Steal some of those Mannequins, bed sheets, sparkle paint, and tinsel! I have a plan!"
"What about the tree and lights?"
"You get the tree. I'll worry about the lights. *grabs a jellyfish net and runs to the ocean*"
