Mmph. Things have been a bit erratic the past week. Been doing Pediatric Surgery, which takes place at another hospital and opens up a whole new kettle of earthworms, and some other stuff happened too.

All right. I do not like angst. Reading it, writing it, fine. But actually expriencing feelings of angst sucks.

First off I got lost around the other hospital more then once, and that was just finding a parking space. Second was I lost my badge, thus incurring feelings of self-loathing for such stupidity. To add to that, the father of a good friend of my family(he works with my dad and his wife is practically my auntie) died, after they found out that he had only mere days to live.

So all this compounded plus general not-feeling-so-good means I'm in a bit of a slump. Acts of self-harm are comletly out, of course, but I wouldn't mind just hiding under the bed for a few weeks. Really, I hate feeling like this.

Also went to see "War of The Worlds" two nights ago. It rocked. And made things better.

Seriously. I think the best thing was that it didn't focus on "ooh, aliens" or big special effects, although it had those two. It was about a guy, and his kids, and a human population that has gone absolutely nutty because everything they were used to has been destroyed and they are all fleeing for their lves, even though they might be running right into death anyway.

It didn't involve a hero who courageously fought the aliens, it involved a human who was trying to get away from the aliens, with fighting back being the last thing on his mind. I loved it.

What rather amused me was that the friend I took to see it was most impressed by the shot of New York at the beginning of the film, and by the big freight car crane things. Oy. (No, Dan, you don't know her either).

Of course, now same friend wishes to take me to see "March of the Penguins". Which is about penguins. It supposed to be "breathtaking", but c'mon. Penguins? More on that after I see it.

Also, the OTP meme, from HT. I'll get pictures when I get around to it.

1. Pick your 5 favorite OTP's
2. Find pictures and post them.
3. Give the name of the OTP and what fandom they're from
4. List your favorite moment between them
5. Tag 5 people from your flist to do this meme

Leo McGarry/President Jed Bartlett --West Wing, and if anyone gets this I will be amazed.

All right, let me stress that they are not a romantic/slashy couple. Bartlett's happily married, for one thing. But they are the cutest platonic pair ever. Leo is incredibly loyal to Bartlett, and it is obvious they care a great deal about each other. My favorite moment...oy, I can't really choose. Maybe during the trial over whether Bartlett had lied to the American people by hiding the fact he had MS. Really, so much squee for those two.

Snowcat/Demolisher--TF Energon/Superlink

If anyone has the picture of them holding hands over the energon pool, please send me the link. They are cute but macho at the same time. No goopy romance here.

Joe(Sky Captain)/Dex--Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow

If anyone's seen this, it's completly obvious that Joe has no interest in the female "love interest" at all. However, he is concerned for Dex's safety the entire movie. He meets Frankie on the airship, first thing he says is "He's got Dex." And of course Frankie gets it immediatly.

Palpatine/Anakin Skywalker--Star Wars

Again, not necessarily romantic or slashy. But Palpatine is so seducing Ani to the Dark Side.

C3PO/R2D2--Star Wars

Because I couldn't think of a fifth one and I like to break people's brains.
