I was chatting in oroslash like normal, having a good old time and making pervy suggestions. Then I go upstairs and talk to Dad for a moment, and he tells me that Susan died a few hours before.

And that was it. No "bang or fireworks", to quote Dad. I go back downstairs and we're still talking about Silverbolt getting knocked up by Motormaster and Prime thinking the kids are his. And I'm still half-laughing at something Koi said right before I went upstairs.

It feels strange because there was one moment where there was a Susan, and now there isn't one, and the moments don't feel any different. Not as if she wasn't going already, I suppose this is almost a blessing now. It'll let her family move on. But I guess I was expecting something more. To actually cry or pause for thought or do something besides just going on with my life.

The funeral's tomorrow. Dunno what I'll say to Alex (the ten-year-old). I guess I'll just keep quiet and maybe ask if he wants to come over to play.

I dunno. I mean, when my bunny died(not a person, but I've never known a person to die) I knew she'd been in a lot of pain, and my heart was kind of, it had been broken before, but I got all my misery out then, and when she died, it was more of a relief than anything. You just can't bring yourself to feel anything but glad she's got it over with.

Or, you could just be numb.

I think asking Alex if he wants to coem over to play with you is a good idea.

I don't know if I helped any, but*hugs you*.

I think you're right. I just didn't feel much, like I'd been told that some movie actor or other that I liked had just died. Still hasn't really sunk in, I think. That she's not there anymore.

*hugs back* Thanks.

Thanks. I'm going to the funeral in a half-hour anyway; I'll report on the results later.

*snuggles you* I'm sorry. Asking Alex to come over'd probably help him cope better, yes... *cuddles*

Well, I went to their house a bit ago and we played Monopoly. And he seemed to like that.

*nods* Monopoly seems like a good distraction technique, granted.

I was winning, too. Had three railroads.

Oh, cool. *grin* I usually end up with the red or blue streets and we end up with a corner of the board each...

It's funny how streets change, when you think about it. There's 'The Angel Islington' on my mum's old board, and I used to think that was a really pretty, posh part of London but apparently it's got broken-down and nasty. It threw me when I was told that, I loved that name.

They have different Monopoly games in Britain? I guess that makes sense. I have the Star Wars version with C-3PO instead of an iron.

*laughs* I've got a Phantom Menace version, and my mum's board is older than I am...I meant the areas of London on the boards change over time. The Angel used to be really well-to-do years ago, apparently.

Huh. All we have are boring places like "Park Avenue" and "Marvin Gardens." I've never heard of a Marvin Gardens.

*shrugs* Can't help you there. We've got places like 'Old Kent Road' that sound comfortably old-English-village-y, but I'd never heard of them outside the game.

That sounds much more pleasant then everything being called Something Avenue.

Lessee, there's...Old Kent Road, Park Lane, Angel Islington, Bond Street - and plenty more I can't think up off the top of my head. There's plenty of variety. :) So what stations do you have on your board? I don't know any American ones other than Grand Central, and technically that's not a station anymore anyway.

Reading Railroad, B & O Line, Short Line, and one more that I forgot. And I don't think any of them exist.
