Aug. 25th, 2007 12:14 pmOne week in college (worse food, more freedom) and I think I've got a decent grasp on matters. All the classes seem relatively decent.
Intro to Statistics: Teacher is a decent guy with a rather annoying sort of voice. The class is at eight bloody am four days a week, though, which rather sucks, but I know a lot of the material from Research Methods and earlier classes. Should be simple enough.
Research Methods II: Same vaguely oddballish teacher from Research Methods I, no sweat. Also spelled Statistics as Sadistics today, which I find fitting.
Humanities 214: Our first lecturer (Mondays are in the lecture hall, the other two classes are with individual teachers and discussions) told us to think of the class as an orgy, then went to extend the metaphor for quite a while. After which he went into Muslim stereotyping by showing clips from the intro song in Aladdin, the marketplace scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and various bits of Cannonball Run. I liked him. Our individual teacher seems to also be pretty cool, and I know she's part of the Gay-Straight Alliance. More bonus points.
Men's Health: Oddly enough, I'm not the only chick in there. The teacher's one of those 'good ol' Southern men' types, the kind who calls you a lady but (ideally) doesn't get rude about it. He seems all right. It's the exercise part of the class that bothers me, as I think I'm a lot less in shape than most or all of the class. I hate gym.
Still, it's all going well so far. Even drove down to Ingles for groceries all by myself and only got lost once. ^_^ ...yeah, I'm pathetic.
