My, look at the time!
Aug. 2nd, 2007 02:15 pmI'm considering making a Pyramid Head costume. Game version, of course; the movie version has only a 'skirt' of human flesh instead of a bloodstained smock and flashing my feminine chest would really decrease the impression of the violent masculine sexual aggression that he symbolizes. And probably get me arrested for indecent exposure.
Unfortunately, I lack cosplay-fu in great amounts and I'm not that handy with crafts in general.
The smock shouldn't be an issue; I can probably get a butcher's smock and dirty it up, then splatter on some fake blood, and same with a rough-looking set of gloves. The Great Knife (because he is not Pyramid Head without his phallic Great Knife) I might be able to do with cardboard or foamboard, although I'll probably try and get help from
viragostonewall. The boy knows his swords. The picture here shows him in high boots, which I can probably get away with if I wear my normal thigh-high boots and either get a long enough smock or wear tights underneath.
The helm especially is going to be troublesome, as I will need something where I can actually see but will still look menacing and not fall on my face. Some black chicken wire or screen mesh might do the trick, but putting the whole thing together will be an effort. It's also got to be light enough that I don't get neck strain, so I'm in favor of foamboard or something similar.
Anybody got suggestions?
