I dunno. I didn't really see Sam in the first movie as being all that hung up on normalcy. He wanted the hottest chick in school. He fed his dog painkillers. He was a freaking dork. You'd think he'd be pretty darn happy to have a giant pet robot - once he knew it wasn't going to kill him. I mean. He made out with his girlfriend on top of a sentient car of dubious sexuality.
And he's worried about college? The government would likely pay for anything he wanted ever if he accepted his normal human pet role of human liaison.
I like Bumblebee ok. We'll have those adventures as long as they still have Decepticons. And Starscream taking care of the hive back home. Caring for the babypods and cooking dinner.
