oxbridgefemme, it was the most awesome thing in the history of fanstuff ever and we need to have it more. With shiny costumes and everything.
I didn't even have to leave Cambridge before I saw cosplayers. With free hugs signs.

There was something really awesome about riding the underground and seeing all these people in cosplay and Lolita skirts and corsets and kimonos getting on the train and just riding around like normal. There was even someone with a "Shinra Electric Power Company" badge (possibly the redhead Turk from Crisis Core) sitting across from us on the Jubilee line.
Cowboy hat Hot Rod, who we met on the way to the Excel Center. A bit shy, but cute.
A badly done panorama of what we saw once we finally got to the end of the cosplay walk (basically a quarter mile line of all the people walking down to the convention, what a sight we must have been). And this is just ten in the morning.
Just the outside was a complete spectacle. I'm guessing this is Midna/Wolf!Link--that suit must have been broiling.

Of course it wouldn't be a proper fan convention without the presence of Lord Vader and his entourage being surprise-hugged by members of a slightly less sinister evil organization.
Mudkip and...I don't know what the brown thing with the leaves is.

They were selling all these sugegasa with cloth streamers around the stalls for no clear reason. I considered getting one, but the streamers looked silly and they probably weren't of the best construction. Also, no strap.

Xenomorphs, escorted by military men with guns who were probably there more to keep the aliens from tripping over their own feet than as crowd protection.

After we left, we wandered around looking for a Yo! Sushi, asoxbridgefemme had promised to introduce me to the joys of little plates of Japanese food going around on conveyor belts. While I sadly forgot to get pictures of the actual restaurant, we did find this rather amusing message on a TV screen in one of the shop windows.
Apparently Jesus can rise from the dead and save your soul, but your computer's virus protection is on its own.
Random dancing Hari Krishnas on our way through Chinatown to get some bubble tea. I don't get it either.
And to round out our evening, Engrish diet tea ad at the convenience store. Not included: pictures of me missing the next to last train back to Cambridge and going all flail atoxbrigefemme and faithinfire on the phone before getting back to Cambridge at half past midnight.
