"Bumble-bot...."
Through the magic of the internets someone got "Where Is Thy Sting" on up on YouTube a few days early. I think we can safely say "Three's A Crowd" was the fluffy breather episode because they got right back on the WHAT THE HELL with this one.
You know, I was expecting angry Wasp. Enraged but stupid Wasp. Wasp with a reason to get revenge but no desire to understand why he got Count of Monte Christo'd for who knows how long. I wasn't expecting him to get this utterly diabolical and creepy. The encounter in the plant and the thing with the mask and the ensuing realization of exactly what happened... *shudder* The fandom seems to have worked up a lot of sympathy for Wasp since "Autoboot Camp", I have a feeling a lot of them will drop it after this.
Points for the Autobots being slow to buy "Bumblebee's" story, and more points to Ratchet for being sad about having to lock him up. They know he's not guilty and they're sorry about it, but they do what needs doing. Not too bright leaving "Wasp's" target alone in the base, but the Autobots were never big on strategy.
Watching Shockwave/Longarm Prime's gradual breakdown was actually kind of fun. He's clearly not as emotionless as people seem to think Shockwaves are, so when he's got his Longarm face on his panic is almost painfully visible. He's scared for his life and he's got no intention of sticking around to be arrested, so I'm really interested in what he's going to do after...well, I'll get to that later.
The Jet twins are adorable Russian love. Dorky and none too bright, but I don't think smart people volunteer to get Deceptitech grafted onto them. I like them.
"Sentinel, you're doing it wrong!" needs to be some sort of macro. At this point I've concluded that Jazz's unofficial rank is "Sentinel's handler".
"You may not be a traitor, but you were never a good bot." THANK YOU, BULKHEAD. No, Wasp wasn't a nice bot, he took people's legs off and put them on top of shelves because they pissed him off. Not a nice thing. Once again this show does not pull its punches when it comes to calling out the "good" guys and I like it.
Sari still seems to be recovering out of sight and forgotten again, which I think was pretty good for this episode. She and 'bee were close and I think she would have mostly irrationally got in the way or provided a far too easy out for Bumblebee to claim innocence because I think she'd buy "Wasp's" story before anyone else did. I really do want to see her out in the next episode or two, though, they can't leave her in a coma forever.
ALSO.
WHAT THE HELL. ULTRA MAGNUS.
Shockwave is one nasty bastard and as much as I understand why he's doing it it's still utterly disturbing to see it on-screen. But...Ultra Magnus. Just lying there dismembered and dying. I remember actually catching a spoiler of this particular one but disregarding it because I didn't think they'd go there and then forgetting about it. They...did go there. Ew. As much as Megatron supposedly eats protoforms for breakfast, Shockwave's certainly been the one putting his Decepticon nature out on parade a lot more.
(I do notice something a bit weird. Ironhide's first question isn't "who did this" or "are you all right", it's "where's your hammer". What's the deal with that, is his hammer the Matrix now? It's probably nothing, but I find it an odd question given the circumstances.)
Did one of the writers go off his meds? Cause we've seriously got some mood whiplash going.
Also, more Prowl plz. Everyone else has complex backstory and motivation (sort of), can we get some for the mysterious ninja?

... hahah, funny thing, they didn't actually volunteer. They had an accident that got them damaged and they just ran the program on them without consent.
GEE, AREN'T AUTOBOTS GRAND.

I really do think they're trying to make us outright hate the Autobot higher ups.

I don't have the comic infront of me, but I seem to remember UM or someone saying that if something went wrong, at least they had a back up copy or something.

He's fantastic. ♥

Bulky was great in this episode. The 'Bee snuggling, the bus on his head (hee!), the calling Wasp out for being a jerk... Bulky. <3

ESPECIALLY this. Man. Is it bad that I want to snug him? I mean, yeah, what he's done to Magnus and Wasp and such is bad, but he's not a stuck-up prig who doesn't care about anything except keeping the machine running.
The hammer comment might have been stupidly latching onto any detail that wasn't "OH SLAG ULTRA MAGNUS OHSLAGOHSLAGOHSLAG"~ or it might be more significant, yeah. HOPEFULLY WE'LL GET TO SEE SOON.
Also, Jazz was great in this episode. *Loves him* *and not just because of Phil LaMarr voice, mmmmm*

Also, I love how... how pro-active he is. In G1 (cartoon, at least), Shockwave sat around and tended to do a whole lot of nothing without Megatron. Here, stuck on Cybertron and with Megatron MIA and not answering him? He slags the biggest and the best of the bots. Which is, like, comics!G1 levels of badass, but with more likable characterization and the lovely motivation of fearing for his life. <3 *pets the poor guy*

Long Arm's breakdown was kinda neat, but on the other hand bad lying always drives me nuts in shows, and has since I was a kid. It's just one belief that I can't suspend. Maybe one of the reasons Shockwave is thought to be emotion-less is because he doesn't normally have a face, so we have a harder time judging it? And since that's what he's used to, he has a harder time controlling his face as Long Arm?
The jet twins kept alternating between annoying and love for me, though I think love is winning out right now...
I just keep loving Jazz more and more. "How do you put up with him?" "I just tune out half of everything he spits out." "Only half?" <3
Bulkhead is love. Calling out Wasp like that. <3 Also, the video game! In any other context trying to figure out who is the "real" someone by video game would be stupid (Remember racing Optimuses?), but here it works!
What happened with Ultra Magnus shocked me. I totally wasn't expecting that. And maybe Shockwave might be more extreme than other Decepticons because he's completely surrounded by Autobots and feels the need to reassert his Decepticon-ness? Dunno...
Well, the episode after this one is "Five Servos of Doom". We already know that's the name of an attack Prowl knows... Maybe this'll be a Prowl-centric episode? Finally? Also, he and Jazz need to have a ninja-off. Now.

Bulkhead was love in this episode. Since Optimus was Sentinel-baiting love and Prowl was ninja-love and Ratchet is constant-love, I think this was a good episode for everyone.

...Which is really not a good thing to do when you're already sick and trying to prevent a stomach from rebelling.

The "no linking to episodes" thing on the tfa comm really bugs the bejeebers out of me.
Was it just me, or was Jazz...drawn differently? His animation seemed a little clunky in places.
The first "BUUuuuuMMBlllEEEE-Booooot-" sent chills down my spine. And I'm all alone in the hotel tonight! Eep!
I love the twins. I just KNEW they would have crazy Russian accents after reading their dialogue in the comic. "Cycle-motor". Heh.
Bulkhead needs to cut down on the robo-caffeine. Or something.
Shockwave is fast becoming one of my favorite characters for pure sliminess. WHY CAN'T I FIND HIS TOY ANYWHERE???? The Target near my house has the purple version with Activators BB, but I want my show-accurate deco, dammit! (I did just get Sunstorm though. He's creme-sicle-licious!)
"UR DOIN IT RONG!" made me snort my coffee. Oh, Ratchet. Bless.
ULTRA MAGNUS!!!!

The animation's been a bit weird all around, especially mouths, not sure what the deal is.

Oh god yes. O_o It was so quiet and unannounced you don't see it coming and that makes it all the creepier.
I always thought they had faux-Japanese accents until I read about the Russian. But the Russian is adorable.
I like him because his first instinct isn't too run, it's to plot out how to get things done before running and then go kill the head of the Autobots. Seriously, Megatron makes the big plans but Shockwave makes the wheels go.

I love how the twins are animated- they have so much swoop-y fun movement!
I hadn't noticed anything else about the mod, and I always just kind of *shrugged* at the "No episode downloads!" thing, until he PUT UP A THREAD ABOUT A LEAKED EPISODE AND THEN FORBADE TELLING PEOPLE WHERE TO FIND IT WTF. >:[
Don't mind me, it's just that things that smack of "Neener neener, I know something you don't know," set me off.

Oh, what. Guy needs to get the mod stick out of his tailpipe.

I love the shades of gray thing they have going on in this series, and tbh, they handle it much better than other, supposedly adult shows often do.
And yep, there's a discussion thread up right now, I didn't even know the ep had been leaked before I saw that on the comm.

Yes, well, no one wants to see Magnus go Jack Bauer because that would be silly. It's more subtle.

Pfffffffft seconded so hard. XD I love Jazz and Sentinel's interactions.

Personally, I was kinda miffed with "You were never a good bot." Wasp was never a nice bot. Nice and good are two different things. Heck, Bee can be a bit of a jerk most of the time. Not to that level. Wasp was a bully, but I could've imagined him growing out of it. Or else winding up like Sentinel (but I don't think superiors/equals would tolerate that kind of attitude from someone as shrimpy as him for too long). My breath caught a bit when he was screaming that he had been a good 'bot once, if only because it means he realises that he is so far past that now.
My sympathy's still there, and strong, because as big a jerk as Wasp was, he never desereved what happened. And because, with what we've seen of the Autobots, I'm convinced that torture was involved. (And because, darn it, I always loved Waspinator, and Wasp is what got me into the show in the first place.) But man, that faint little "Bumblebot" the first time...shudders.
The Jet-twins are awesomesauce. I love how they fly, just swooping and spiraling. It seems to fit--they clearly love their new ability so much.
I liked this episode except for the fact that the Autobots seemed to be holding the Idiot Ball for most of it. Bumblebee's eyes are blue, Wasp's are purple. Even if they didn't know his eyes were purple now, they know what color Bee's are. And the general "Wasp...I mean, Bumblebot...I mean, I..." thing. Though I find it interesting Wasp is still capable of talking in the first person if he tries to. But Bulkhead was so awesome and cute, and Jazz got a lot of groovy lines.
Frick, Ultra-Magnus took me by complete surprise. Between him and Blurr, I wonder how much they're going to start racking up the body count.

I liked that the Autobots didn't directly buy it, but between Wasp obviously being crazed and the fact that nobody would even believe it was possible I can see why they would trust the guy looking and sounding like their old buddy 'bee. The really weird part was just leaving him alone in their base, to be defenseless and isolated if Wasp came back to the one place he knew Bumblebee would be. Obviously Sari hasn't shown them enough horror movies.
Bulkhead gets sore about being teased, and also there's the legs thing. His idea of "good bot" is Optimus, Bumblebee, Prowl, and compared to that Wasp as he was is a Sentinel Prime level jerk.
My sympathy's still there, and strong, because as big a jerk as Wasp was, he never desereved what happened. And because, with what we've seen of the Autobots, I'm convinced that torture was involved.
Wasp definitely didn't deserve it and you can see that Team Optimus still had sympathy for him too, but after what he did/nearly did to Bumblebee I can see why they felt he really couldn't be redeemed.
(And because, darn it, I always loved Waspinator, and Wasp is what got me into the show in the first place.)

They seem to have a corpse-an-episode thing going on here, or at least an offscreen death/almost death quota. It's bizarre.
